Instead, it will offer a base amount of storage for a fixed fee and a charge for additional storage. An initiative is underway to support the university&#8217;s transformation to a new Google service.&nbsp;<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-be69b88 e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-child\" data-id=\"be69b88\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-2778126 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"2778126\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"markdown markdown-main-panel ui-v2-enabled\" dir=\"ltr\" style=\"font-size: 14px;\"><div class=\"markdown markdown-main-panel ui-v2-enabled\" dir=\"ltr\"><p data-sourcepos=\"3:1-3:130\">Gmail offers a feature called <strong>confidential mode<\/strong> to help you send emails with an extra layer of security. Here&#8217;s how to use it:<\/p><p data-sourcepos=\"5:1-5:33\"><strong>Sending a Confidential Email:<\/strong><\/p><ol data-sourcepos=\"7:1-17:0\"><li data-sourcepos=\"7:1-7:36\"><p data-sourcepos=\"7:4-7:36\"><strong>Compose a new email<\/strong> in Gmail.<\/p><\/li><li data-sourcepos=\"8:1-8:189\"><p data-sourcepos=\"8:4-8:189\">Click on the <strong>lock icon<\/strong> located at the bottom right corner of the compose window. (This icon might be hidden behind a dropdown menu with three dots depending on your Gmail interface.)<\/p><\/li><li data-sourcepos=\"9:1-12:0\"><p data-sourcepos=\"9:4-9:78\">A pop-up window will appear with confidential mode options. You can choose:<\/p><ul data-sourcepos=\"10:5-12:0\"><li data-sourcepos=\"10:5-10:136\"><strong>Expiration date:<\/strong> Set a timeframe (from 1 day to 5 years) after which the recipient will no longer be able to access the email.<\/li><li data-sourcepos=\"11:5-12:0\"><strong>SMS passcode:<\/strong> Require the recipient to enter a passcode received via SMS to open the email. (Optional)<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li data-sourcepos=\"13:1-14:0\"><p data-sourcepos=\"13:4-13:52\">Once you&#8217;ve set your preferences, click <strong>Save<\/strong>.<\/p><\/li><li data-sourcepos=\"15:1-15:56\"><p data-sourcepos=\"15:4-15:56\"><strong>Compose your email<\/strong> and attach any files as usual.<\/p><\/li><li data-sourcepos=\"16:1-17:0\"><p data-sourcepos=\"16:4-16:18\">Click <strong>Send<\/strong>.<\/p><\/li><\/ol><p data-sourcepos=\"18:1-18:40\"><strong>The recipient will receive an email:<\/strong><\/p><ul data-sourcepos=\"20:1-22:0\"><li data-sourcepos=\"20:1-20:162\">The email content and attachments will be inaccessible until they enter the passcode (if you chose SMS passcode) or access the email before the expiration date.<\/li><li data-sourcepos=\"21:1-22:0\">Recipients will see a message indicating the email is in confidential mode and outlining any restrictions (e.g., expiration date, no forwarding).<\/li><\/ul><p data-sourcepos=\"23:1-23:33\"><strong>Opening a Confidential Email:<\/strong><\/p><ol data-sourcepos=\"25:1-32:0\"><li data-sourcepos=\"25:1-25:97\"><p data-sourcepos=\"25:4-25:97\">The recipient will receive an email notification with a link to access the confidential email.<\/p><\/li><li data-sourcepos=\"26:1-26:93\"><p data-sourcepos=\"26:4-26:93\">If SMS passcode is enabled, they will also receive a separate SMS message with a passcode.<\/p><\/li><li data-sourcepos=\"27:1-30:0\"><p data-sourcepos=\"27:4-27:97\">Clicking the link in the email notification will open a web page where the recipient needs to:<\/p><ul data-sourcepos=\"28:5-30:0\"><li data-sourcepos=\"28:5-28:41\">Enter the passcode (if applicable).<\/li><li data-sourcepos=\"29:5-30:0\">Agree not to forward, copy, print, or download the email content.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li data-sourcepos=\"31:1-32:0\"><p data-sourcepos=\"31:4-31:105\">Once these steps are completed, the recipient can view the confidential email content and attachments.<\/p><\/li><\/ol><p data-sourcepos=\"33:1-33:20\"><strong>Important Notes:<\/strong><\/p><ul data-sourcepos=\"35:1-38:0\"><li data-sourcepos=\"35:1-35:163\">Confidential mode helps prevent accidental sharing but doesn&#8217;t guarantee complete security. Recipients can still take screenshots or photos of the email content.<\/li><li data-sourcepos=\"36:1-36:194\">Confidential mode is currently only available for Gmail users sending to other Gmail users.
