Information Security

The Information Security (InfoSec) team provides services to the collegiate University to support a unified and collaborative approach to reducing risks to personal information, research data and operational systems.

What is information security?

Information security refers to the technologies, policies and practices used to protect confidentiality, integrity and availability of information from cyber-attacks and other types of threat.

Why is information security important?

Information is critical to all Aamusted operations. Any failure to protect our information automatically increases the risk of:

  • Disruption to important activities
  • Reputational damage to the university
  • Potential monetary loss

Graham Ingram

, Chief Information Security Officer, Aaumusted.

We are here to reduce the risk to our people of being harmed by a data breach and the risk to our research from theft or damage to data integrity. A unified approach is necessary from across 'One Aamusted' where every constituent part, and every individual, plays a role in maintaining our cyber security.

Cyber threats are a fact of life in the 21st century; with collective continuous improvement, we can reduce the likely impact on you and your work.

How can I take action?

If you have concerns or need some support to take action on your cyber security, or you just want to update your knowledge, our aim is to provide you with the training and support that you need to be security savvy every day.
