Adding Resources in Aamusted LMS

A Resource in Aamusted serves as a tool for instructors to enhance learning experiences, such as providing files or web links. Each resource is displayed as a clickable link accompanied by an icon indicating its type (File, Folder, Page, URL, etc.). Instructors can configure settings for most resources, including viewing conditions and display properties. While resources can be managed—moved, hidden, and edited—by Teachers or Course Designers, they are only viewable or downloadable by students. To grant TAs the ability to add or edit resources, assign them the Course Designer role. Here are the various types of resources available in Aamusted: 1. File: Allows instructors to upload files for students to download. Files can be text documents, spreadsheets, audio files, video files, etc. 2. Folder: Enables instructors to organize multiple files within a single folder, helping to save space on the course page. 3. IMS content package: Allows uploading and posting of content packaged in the IMS format, typically from textbook publishers. 4. Label: Provides a way to organize and visually enhance the course homepage by adding sub-headings, annotations, and images to Topic or Weekly sections. 5. Page: Presents students with a single scrollable page created by the instructor using the HTML editor, allowing for rich content display. 6. URL: Redirects students to any web location accessible via their web browser. Here’s how to add a resource using the Activity Chooser: 1. Turn editing on by clicking on the corresponding option at the top right corner of your main course page. 2. Locate the section where you want to add the resource and expand it if necessary. 3. Click “+ Add an activity or resource” within the section. This action opens the Activity Chooser. 4. Scroll down to the Resources heading and click once on the desired resource type to view a description and support links (double-clicking adds the resource to your Aamusted page). 5. Select the resource type you want to add, then double-click or click Add to proceed to the Add Resource page. 6. Depending on the chosen resource type, complete the required fields and configure settings as needed. 7. Click “Save and return to course” or “Save and display” to finalize the addition of the resource. After adding a resource, you can manage it by moving the resource link within the course page, configuring its settings, or hiding it from students until ready for release.
